One of the main attractions of Kenmore Park is the Freedom Park Softball Complex. This is where Fredericksburg’s different softball leagues come to play. The complex is regularly used for tournaments and recreational play for all ages. It has three full-size fields, each enclosed with patio lighting and lined for fast and slow-pitch softball. The complex also has batting cages, locker rooms, and a concession stand. In recent years, Freedom Park has expanded its offering – with a playground, picnic area, and a regulation-size sand volleyball court. The Freedom Park Softball Complex is also close to a wonderful water-oriented attraction – the public boat ramp. This allows residents and visitors to the area to launch their boats and enjoy the Rappahannock River. Boaters can explore all the different coves, inlets, and even anchors and picnics.
